Added Thursday 8th May 2008

The 33rd International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz) is to be held at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, California USA from 15th to 19th September 2008.

The theme of the 2008 conference is "THz for Life" emphasizing the cross disciplinary nature of the field, the involvement of the LIFE sciences, recent emphasis on the search for LIFE in the universe and the LIFE long career opportunities that are a part of working in this unique frequency range.

Special outreach sessions on medical and biological applications are planned as well as a number of well known invited tutorial speakers.

IRMMW-THz began in 1974 and is the oldest and largest continuous forum specifically devoted to the field of ultra high frequency electronics and applications. The scope of the conference extends from millimeter wave devices, components and systems to far-infrared detectors and instruments. It encompasses micro- and nano-scale structures to large accelerators and Tokomaks and applications as diverse as space science, biology and medicine.

Professor Martyn Chamberlain (Durham University), Scientific Co-ordinator of TeraNova, is on the International Organising Committee for the conference.

Further details and booking information is available on the conference website. We look forward to seeing you there!
